By order dated 05.06.2026 in CS(COMM) 659/2026 — Manish Grover & Anr. v. John Doe & Anr. — the Hon’ble Delhi High Court granted an ad-interim injunction along with a dynamic injunction in favour of Mr. Manish Grover, popularly known as Acharya Manish, and Jeena Sikho Lifecare Limited, restraining unknown persons (John Doe) and Meta Platforms, Inc. from misappropriating Acharya Manish’s name, voice, image and likeness.
The order comes after unknown entities used Artificial Intelligence to clone Acharya Manish’s voice and create deepfake videos falsely showing him endorsing unverified health products. The scale of the problem was staggering — thousands of fabricated videos, fake accounts surfacing daily, paid advertising campaigns running on social media, and most worryingly, members of the public being misled into purchasing products that posed a real threat to their health.
The Hon’ble Court has, by paragraph 36(i)–(iv) of the order, restrained the Defendants from misappropriating Acharya Manish’s personality and publicity rights, infringing his copyright, moral and performance rights, and passing off goods or services as being endorsed by him, and has further directed Meta/Facebook to permanently disable, block and suspend all infringing links identified in Annexure-A to the order.
Most significantly, by paragraph 36(v) of the order, the Hon’ble Court has granted a dynamic injunction, giving the Plaintiffs the liberty to approach Meta directly, during the pendency of the suit, to take down any future false, fake or infringing videos and posts as and when discovered — ensuring continuing protection without requiring fresh court orders.
Being trusted by Acharya Ji to handle this matter has been a genuine privilege. Watching him build something meaningful in the field of Ayurveda over three decades, and then seeing the lengths to which unscrupulous entities will go to exploit that goodwill, made this fight personal in a way few matters are.
